The inspiration behind "Heritage Crown" came from a deeply personal place. During my recent trip back to my homeland, South Africa, I had the opportunity to visit several historical museums in Cape Town. Among the many artifacts, the hand-beaded statues from centuries ago particularly resonated with me. The imagery from those statues lingered in my mind, and although I wasn’t immediately sure how to channel that inspiration, it eventually found its way into my hat designs.
Creating this piece was a unique journey. Unlike traditional hats, I chose to work with suede for its distinct texture, which added a layer of richness and depth to the artwork.
